Fire ants sting like wasps or bees. the rest of the normal ants do bite when aggravated. ants that live in the rain forest can get extremely large and can be deathly poisonous and there is a Mexican legend that a fire breathing ant will come to your home if you steal something from a poor person or a witch/warlock puts a curse on you
