Wild stallions will fight each other if the circumstances are right. Typically wild stallions will not fight but it is not unheard of for two horses to get in a fight.

Wild stallions will fight each other (sometimes to the death) for mares or territory. Domesticated stallions will also fight so its best to not keep stallions pastured together. It makes no difference if they know each other or not, a stallion will fight any other stallion it feels is threatining it or its mares.

Breeding stallions will often fight during breeding season, but are often kept together during the off season, and before they are first used for breeding. Some stallions are not compatible with each other and should be separated. and would most likely go for the kill... especially if there was a mare around. - Megan (11)
