No. Those that do, would probably have low self esteem in any situation. There someetimes is a tendency to become bored but women with self esteem will find ways to spice up their life.

There is no reason she can't have both down the line. One of the hardest jobs a woman will every have is raising children. It's just not an 8 hour day with the odd bit of over-time, but a 24/7 job! Women who stay at home even for a short while are more likely to have more well-adjusted children. There is nothing better than a child having their mother around when they want to feel secure, loved, cuddled when they fall and hurt themselves, looked after when sick or just plain good memories of good old mom. Once the child is in mid elementary school a mother could get addition courses for her career off her computer or even go to classes at night or work part-time and be home when her child is home. She could also possibly do work from home for the company she is working for. Women who stay home with their kids can communicate to their husband that they want one night out with the girls and he can baby-sit. It's also important the husband and wife get a baby-sitter and go out at least once on a weekend or go visiting friends. If one is smart the wife will simply trade-off baby-sitting with a girlfriend (she baby-sits for and the next time the wife baby-sits for her.) There is no money exchanging hands.

It is a fact that moms who stay home with their children (or dads) have more well-adjusted children. The children feel, safer, more secure and doesn't end up a "lock key kid." These are kids who come home to an empty house and fend for themselves until mom gets home from work. Many working mothers feel guilty they are working and will often spoil the child with "things", but you can't beat good old quality time.

I have had more women admit to me it was easier going back to work than staying home looking after their children so they decided to go back to work. My question is "why bother having kids?" The answer is simple ... these women want it all and someone is going to suffer for it and it's usually the kids!

My mom stayed home and raised my brother and I. When we got into the latter part of elementary school she worked part-time at a drug store, then when we got into high school she got her degree as an MOA for an Opthamologist's office and remained there for years. Even when working she always put my brother and I first and when she got home from work she would form the words "how was your day?" If we had problems she was there to help. My brother and I are most proud of our mother and she was quite the woman and was smarter than those women out there with degrees coming out of the ying yang. She left us with fond memories of singing songs to us while rocking us in her old rocker to kissing cuts and scrapes, to listening to our problems. Moms have a special way of making you feel better when you are at your lowest. We remember coming home on cold chilly afternoons from school to a warm clean house with the smell of baking bread in the air, my mom humming as she was making our Hot Chocolate and had some warm cookies for us. In the summer our mom helped us make lemonade so we could sell it from our lemonade stand. She taught us more important things than all about careers ... she taught us how to love unconditionally, to not be racist, not to judge people until you get the truth or the other side of the story, not to steal, lie and to work on our inner selfs. Yup, give me a mom who stays home and goes without a few things to raise her kids! The deserve medals!

This is so sad because taking raising another human life is one of the most important jobs a person can have. Many women are now opting to work at home either part-time or full-time. It's really hard to do it, but is the answer for a lot of women. It takes working 2 hours before your children get up, an hour or so during their naptime, and two hours after they go to bed at night. It makes a very long day for any mom, but some opt to take this path to both be at home w/ their kids and contribute to the household income. One career that allows women to do this is medical transcription.
