Woodpeckers don't get headaches because they have exceedingly spongy skulls. And incredibly, they have an incredible muscle that actually pulls their brains away from their beaks every time they strike a blow.

Probably not. Their brains and heads and necks are well adapted to their beak action. Their brains are so tiny that they can move back and forth without damage. Human brains, however, would self-destruct if it changed direction that fast and suddenly.
