I personally agree. However, we evn have agnostic and atheist members here who are people of good will and high morals.
Saying that morality comes from God leads to the Eurythro dilemma. If goodness is defined by what God says is good, then is goodness merely what God deems as good? Isn't it then possible that God could just have easily have made torture morally acceptable and giving money to the poor a horrible sin? And if goodness exists outside of God, then God can't be truly omnipotent.
The inherent word of God is the Bible. Christians believe that the Bible is inherent meaning it is true and not capable of error.

I would agree because respect has to do with acknowledging inherent worth in others or yourself. If you are not acknowledging your inherent worth as God's creation, you might not respect yourself or others, leading to actions that are hurtful/destructive to yourself and others.
