Humans 'are' apes, sort of cousins to monkeys. We share a lot of DNA patterns with them and the obvious physical characteristics, too.
There is no such thing as 'a religion that says we came from monkeys'.
Only a scientific, evidence based explanation, bolstered by DNA technology which proves we are descended from ape-like creatures - which in fact we are... ape-like.
If there was a god and it wanted to design a Human, why did it make us look like bald apes?
The answer to that is that there is of course no such thing as a creator & no design.
Natural selection is the process by which variations compete for food/habitat etc. The successful ones survive & pass on their 'suitable' genes to the future. The unsuitable ones die out. This doesn't mean they're 'the fittest' or 'best' but merely that at the moment when certain environmental pressures were placed on them, they survived.
Sometimes it's more luck than judgment but most certainly not designed!
