Yes. When we are excersicing.We needed more energy.Thus we need to take in more oxygen to break down the food to produce energy.When we are excersicing,more carbon dioxide is being prodeuced,so we need to get rid of it.Thefore we breath faster

Yes, exercise requires that your body metabolizes more food and this require more air (oxygen) to accomplish. Your breathing rate and breath volume therefore increase to supply this oxygen. Note however that it is the build up of the waste product of this metabolism, Carbon Dioxide, that the lungs have to get rid of that triggers the harder breathing. You can test this by breathing into a paper bag.
