to make sure that the tops dont fall off you can take following steps. Avoid wearing tops and switch to sport swim suites. If you are wearing a top make sure you knot is tight and firm use a small pin for security. Be on your guard if u feel the top is loosing then take the opertunity to make it tight before it comes off . Also instead of tops which recquire knots you can use tops that come with clips.

My mom put them in a bucket of water upside down and swished them around a bit. Then leave them upside down for a while. She also put ant deterant around the base early in the season, the flowers have a sap that the ants love but the flowers do not need ants to open. She uses the ant deterant now and has beautiful peonies with out ants now.
