I definitely learn things every time I travel! For instance, how to pack more efficiently and not forget anything important - I now have a check list that I tape to the inside of my suitcase to remind me! I also learned that it is way more fun to find unique places to stay off the tourist route. I'm looking at planning a trip to Kauai right now and I found awesome vacation homes that will allow me to live like a local but still have the luxury I want for my vacation!
Some people do, definitely. Just like any other experience in life, though, people can choose not to learn from the experience of traveling. If you go to someplace with a different culture or language, you can observe and learn, or you can try to get everyone to do things the way that you are used to... usually trying to adapt yourself will teach you lessons faster.
There are so many people who are into jobs that require traveling. They can have both the pleasure of visiting other places and still be able to make a living. So yes, I would feel delighted to travel as part of my job.
