In years: 2018 - 1609 = 409 years In days: This is not quite so simple: 409 years = 409 × 365 days + leap days = 149,285 + leap days The leap days are calculated: 1609 - 1699 had: 1612, 1616, ..., 1696 = 22 leap days 1700 was a leap year → 1700-1799 had 25 leap days 1800 was not a leap year → 1800-1899 had 24 leap days 1900 was not a leap year → 1900-1999 had 24 leap days 2000 was a leap year → 2000-2018 had 2000, 2004, ..., 2016 = 5 leap days = an additional 22 + 25 + 24 + 24 + 5 = 100 days BUT in 1752 the calendar was adjusted to remove extra leap days to get get the calendar back in sync with the seasons - the 11 days between 2 September 1752 and 14 September 1752 simply did not exist - the people went to sleep on 02/9/1752 and woke up the following morning on 14/09/1752. So there are a total of 100 - 11 = 89 extra days, making it 149,374 days between 1609 and 2018 (or more accurately between 01/01/1609 and 01/01/2018). This is why the tax year now runs between 6 April and 5 April the next year - the tax year used to be in sync with the year which started on 25 March (9 months before 25 December) and when the 11 days were removed from the calendar in 1752 (at which time the calendar was changed to start 1 January) the people refused to pay taxes for the 11 days they had not had and so delayed payment for 11 days; the tax year stuck with the old year start of 25 March, but with an extra 11 days taking it to 6 April.
Nope ... you as an hourly employee are only entitled to receive pay for those days actually worked, unless they are paid holidays, paid sick leave or paid vacations.
26 PAYPERIODS TIMES 14 DAYS IN A BIWEEKLY PAY PERIOD=364 DAYS 365 DAYS IN A YEAR - 364 PAID DAYS A YEAR=1 DAY LEFTOVER 11 years x 1 day left over= 11 days 2 leap years in those 11 years= 2 extra days 11 days +2 days= 13 days 365 days IN A YEAR + 13 days ACCRUED DAYS AFTER 11 YEARS= 378 days 378 TOTAL DAYS DIVIDED BY 14 days IN A PAYPERIOD= 27 pay periods SO THE ANSWER IS EVERY 11 YEARS SINCE THE LAST 27 PAYPERIOD YEAR SO DEPENDING ON YOU PAY DATES YOU WILL RECEIVE 27 PAYCHECK THE YEAR OF OR THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
It is when you have a bi-weekly payroll cycle with an extra pay period in one year due to the addition of leap year days over time; 27 paydates vs. 26. I believe it is every 11 years for bi-weekly payroll cycles, give or take a year depending on if your pay check date lands on a holiday at year end. Weekly payroll cycles can also be affected with an extra paycheck in a year due to the 'date creep' with leap years. There are various optoins on how to handle this for the employer, but several factors to take into consideration before deciding on which steps, if any, you'll take to accomodate the 27th pay period. The year following a 27 pay period year will not have one less pay period, 25, but the usual 26. There are some blogs and Q & A posts on the web that are easily searchable.
About $41,000/year with LEAP.
The homophone for "to pay for money" and "to leap about" is "bounce."
Yes, because the earlier you make extra payments the less interest you pay. So if you pay $200/month extra each month this year, that is better than paying $2400 at the end of the year.
Tracfones offer a very popular service called "Pay As You Go". They alto offer a one year service where you pay $199 for 365 days of connection. 1500 minutes. Pay an extra $19.99 for double the minutes per plan.
Salary is salary, not daily or hourly pay so it usually stays the same. If you have a cool boss he/she might give you a bonus or extra day off;)
next year, you'll get an extra weeks worth of taxes.
