I have donated to GoodWill and other thrift stores many times. You do not get paid. However, you do get the benefit of knowing that what you don't or can't use anymore is going to people who need it. Just be sure that what you donate is in good condition...if you wouldn't buy it, don't donate it.
Yes donating IS volunteering but only in someways, like donating blood, and money stuff like that glad I could help!
Volunteer work is just that, volunteered not paid. Volunteering is basically donating your time.

In the United States, the FDA prohibits paying individuals for donating blood. However, some blood donation centers may offer non-monetary incentives such as gift cards or merchandise. It is important to check with your local blood donation center for more information on their policies.
No, you typically do not get paid for donating items to the Salvation Army. Donations are considered charitable contributions and are intended to help those in need, rather than to generate income for the donor. However, you may be able to claim a tax deduction for the value of the items donated if you itemize your deductions on your tax return.
A good person is one who makes every reasonable attempt not to hurt other creatures. Goodness has nothing to do with spreading money around.
In order to do the cool stuff paid members get to do, you have to be a paid member. Otherwise, no one would want to buy a paid membership if they could do everything for free!
stuff
I think it is as long as you don't donate SO much......
