I would say if you know what model or make your Jon boat is you can find it. The motor capacity is determined by multiple factors. Height of sides, the mounting area of where you would put the motor. If it has a plate your already on the internet a lil searching with that model number and should be a non issue.
i have an 8 ft aluminum Jon boat and the weight limit is 350 lbs for all your gear and you.

A jon boat is a flat bottomed fishing boat. It is made of wood or aluminium. They may have up to three bench seats for passengers. They are usually 6.1 by 4.1 meters in size. They are not built for speed, they are designed to be slow.
You can put it on to put around a lake, but it is undersized. It won't go fast trolling speed, <5mph. With more than 1 person plus gear it will probably be like rowing. I wouldn't use it in a river, as it doesn't have enough power to keep you in control of the boat in fast currents. The recommended motor size is 8-9.9hp for 10-14ft jon boats, it will allow 15-22mph .
It is a flat bottom boat, usually with a low gunwale. Thus meaning it has little freeboard. Jon boats are used mainly for water fowl hunting and running about in swampy waters.

Depends on the boats capacity ratings plus your weight and gear. I fish a small river with a Mercury 2.5hp. Gets me where I want to go without paddling.
not sure how wide your Jon boat is but I would go with a 3.5HP or 5HP outboard no bigger
