No cold sores are from a virus in the body. Everyone is born with the virus it just remains dormant in the fortunate. For us less fortunate its for life. There are ways to reduce an outbreak. The sun, acidy foods, stress, even colds induce the virus. At first tingle of cold sore put an ice cube on it, in a bag or on a washcloth. There are prescription meds like Zovirax and others and there are OTC ones just as good. But unfortunately, your going to have to try a few to see which is best for you. The ice helps by cooling down the virus from the outside. Use the meds as directed and when it starts to heal try not to get it wet. Never pop them they will spread and no oral sex or kissing until they subside because you can infect someone.

AnswerYour Ph levels could be off as well. This can cause high acidity in the body and it can effect your taste, smell, cause dry mouth. When brushing your teeth (having a cold sore) use baking soda and warm water to brush your teeth (USE A SOFT TOOTH BRUSH) and also lightly brush the roof of your mouth and the tongue. This lowers the bacteria considerably. There are medications you can buy over the counter to help with the cold sore.

Not everyone carries the Herpes Zoster virus. It is acquired as most other viruses are. Amino acids or lack of can cause the virus to present itself IF you have ever come into contact with it. L-Arginine can cause an outbreak(it's in several male enhancement remedies. l-Lysine can stop the virus and clear up cold sores or other outbreaks of the virus.

Yes. A cold sore is a type of virus and it doesn't matter if you have a cold or not. The cold will not cause the cold sore but your immune system might be weaker making you more susceptible to it.
