Any member who is just starting to play Moshi Monsters would have zero moshlings, the least amount of moshlings you can have. This would change daily, with members attracting moshlings and new members joining.

If you have a free (Basic or non) membership, you can keep 2 moshlings in your house and keep one moshling in your backyard. If you have a Moshi Membership (paid membership), you may have up to 6 moshlings in your room which can be swapped any time and the rest are kept in your Moshling Zoo. Moshi Monsters continues to add Moshlings so any number given will change. As of November 2011, there are 63 Moshlings available.
