elnino and la nina these air stream patterns have to do with the surface temp of the western pacific and the surface air pressure I can't really explain it but these two systems come together namelly elnino is the bad tempered one that creates the most havoc for us in the south while his more gentle sister lanina is known for giving us more mild winters in the south.
