* You don't have to attend church to be a Christian, but through my own experience I find it is easier to do what God would have me to do if I have the boost of being around other Christians. It seems like my life goes a lot better when I'm attending church, too.

No, of course not, it is purely down to personal preference. Many Christians may choose to get baptised because they are determined to show their strong faith to God and to show their obedience to God but you can still do that without being baptised. Baptism is just a way of publicly acknowledging you are a Christian with your church and your community, but it isn't compulsory. As long as you follow the readings of The Bible and have strong faith in the Lord and obey the Lord, then you are a good Christian any day, regardless of whether you have been baptised.

I hoped this helped :)

You do not have to pray to be a Christian. you can if you would like but it is not required. Being Christian only means that you believe in Jesus Christ! * I disagree. Being a Christian, is having a relationship with Christ. And, as you know, in order to have a relationship with someone, you must talk to them. Say you know this guy named Phil. You talk to Phil, email him, call him, ect. Wouldnt you say you have a relationship with Phil? In order to have a relationship with God, you need to talk to him. It doesnt have to be, "Oh, dear Heavenly Father, you are so great, all glory goes to you. Ohhh mmyyy gooooddnnesss you are sooooo wonderful and i am not....". NO! It could be, more like, "God, who are you? I want to know you. Please show me who you are.", or ,"God, I pray for (so and so) to come to know you, or, to stop drinking, or that their leg will heal, ect." It doesnt have to be all about him all the time. You can pray for a friend, yourself, family needs, and you can pray for other people. Dont abuse prayer though, and dont pray selfishly. Being a christian could mean many more things, not just believing in Jesus Christ, but also knowing him, having a relationship with him, sharing his Word, and who he is, praying, learning about him, and ministry. To the person who answered above, you may want to look to God on that one, and may want to do a little soal searching.

Yes. You have to go to some type of church organization to be a good Christian. "Christ loved the church and gave himself for her." Your church does not need to be in a big building. It can be a group in a house. The church is the people. Still, you need to be a part of a group where the members are part of one another. Search and pray.

As a minister, I have read the Good Books. What I've found is , no, you do not need to go to church to believe in God. Yes, many are correct in saying that God does not just live in a building. But that is a simplistic answer. You could just as easily ask, do you need to go to school to learn? I mean, all those judgmental teachers telling me that I was not doing it correctly, or guiding me to the right resource. We have all had bad teachers that made us feel inadequate but on the other hand we've had teachers that have made us feel so good about ourselves and how much fun learning could be.

I personally attended many distance learning classes so I found that yes, you can learn without going to school. I can say that it was much more difficult. I had no support structure. I had no other like-minded students to bounce ideas off. I also had to be very self-motivated to make myself read, practice and study for my tests. To study God's works on your own are also just as do-able but like a distance learning class you must be very self motivated to strive to learn more.

I have heard others mention that sanctimonious people are at church. Yes, I have met some people like that, but true Christians are welcoming, not judgmental. I have had far more positive experiences than negative. It would be as unfair to avoid church because of the bad apples as telling your child to avoid school because "schools are filled with judgmental teacher who do nothing but criticize."

What you get out of church is a place of study and learning as much as worship. You get to exchange ideas and see the reference material that others have found. You also get to hear what a difference God has made in the lives of others. You don't have to agree with all sermons. I don't agree with all sermons. But, you get to hear another opinion for you to digest, ponder, and pray about, in your personal journey to seek the truth.

Also, believing is more about doing than just believing. In the Bible it says that even Demons believe in God, but its our acts that make us worthy. James {2:14-26} Also, not all giving must be monetary. We give of our time to make our community a better place and a church is a place to help us have a greater impact. One ant can move a grain of sand but an ant colony can move mounds. Churches give us a colony where the sum is greater than the individual. Church families have a lot of programs to help a community that can really use a smart person like you. The purpose of a church isn't to make a pretty building to be used on Sundays, but to be a staging point to go out into the world and make it a better place.

Church also provides you a support network when you need help. It's a family. When you have a crisis, you are not going through it alone.

Find the right church for you where you feel called to be there, where you can be part of the colony the moves the mound to make a better community.

You have to believe and confess that Jesus is Lord and Savior and be baptized with water and Spirit to be one.

Catholic AnswerIn the Catholic Church (the only Christian Church which Jesus founded), you must be baptized or studying to be baptized (a catechumen) to be a Christian. If you are validly baptized outside of the Catholic Church and profess the Nicene Creed in its original interpretation, then you are considered a Christian, although only a material heretic, not a formal heretic.

Christianity isn't some religion. You can go to church every Sunday and still not be a Christian. It's your heart, do you read your Bible? Are you in a relationship with Jesus Christ? Have you repented from your sins and do you beloved Jesus died on the cross and rose again? That makes you a Christian, not church.

You do not have to be a Christian to go to a Christian church. Attending Church is an opportunity for those who believe to affirm their Christian faith. But, that is not all. It is also an opportunity for those who have come to believe to share the reasons they have become believers, and their life experiences as Christians.

You do not have to have any special knowledge, or fear being criticized for having doubts. We have all had questions regarding our faith at one time or another. Attendance at church gives you an opportunity to explore your doubts.

In the end the decision to believe or not will be yours, and yours only. It even comes with a guarantee: If you choose not to believe in Christs' sacrifice, and the Good News of salvation, your misery will be gladly refunded

If you go to a church of Christ and your church accecpts all relegions then what relegion are you?

I don't think that a church is good if it does not accept your religion. I go to trinity baptist in aurora Colorado and trinity lets you come in no matter what religion you are. So by accepting non belivers and other religions more people will become christian. If you do live in aurora come to trinity they have a awesome youth group. It is not totally focused on god but you really become a better christian. A lot of kids became christian so hope I helped!

Is a Christian a good Christian if they just go to church?

Not really, you can go to church and still not be a Christian. To tell if your a "good" Christian you look at your attitude and the things you do. If you try your best at all times to be like Jesus Christ then that makes you a "good" Christian. If you love God with all your heart and love everyone even your enemies then that's all that matters. But by loving people you follow all the other qualities of being a Christian.
