You don't need 100% hearing. You must be able to clearly hear with both ears and your back turned towards the source, a regular conversational voice in a quiet room from a distance of 6ft.

Your better ear at sound levels 500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, 3000Hz with 35dB, 30dB, 30dB, 40dB respectively.
Your worst ear at sounds levels 500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, 3000Hz with 35dB, 50dB, 50dB, 60dB respectively.
