A 4G smart phone will surf the internet faster, however, you should notice no difference in call quality. 4G is newer and not available in all areas. If you live in a big city where they have 4G and do not travel much, a 4G phone should be fine. However, if you travel a lot or live in a small town a 3G phone would probably serve your needs better.
