You can practice cello without a cello by using a practice mute or a silent cello, which allows you to practice fingerings and bowing techniques quietly. You can also practice mentally by visualizing playing the cello and going through the motions in your mind.
Learning anything can be difficult, but when you stay with it, you can be a great cellist! It takes patients and practice.
In the movie, "If I Stay", Chloe Grace Moretz did not already know how to play the cello. They used a body double.
A three quarter cello is no different than a regular cello other than it's size. The 3 quarter cello is smaller and suitable for younger players, but it makes the exact same pitches and works exactly the same way. You want to learn to play the cello, and the best way to do it is either in a school setting or in a private lesson. I learned the cello in a combination of the two, and I am now one of the top players in my school. I obviously didn't try to learn the cello myself without a teacher, so you're going to need another answer for that. Hope you have fun learning to play the cello!

I just bought a new MyarMina black cello. I'm a beginner and just learning to play. Am very happy with my new cello and it sounds great. It's awesome and I love it. Cant complain with this cello for the price I paid for it.
You can definitely learn how to play cello if you know the violin. It is great that you already know how to play the violin because your music knowledge will be beneficial when it comes to learning how to play another instrument. If you wanted to consider taking cello lessons or any other type of musical lessons, TakeLessons would be a great place to check out! You can find a teacher in or around your area who will design lessons based on what you want to focus on. http://takelessons.com/

The saxophone is an medium instrument to learn but because you have a back ground in the Cello the Saxophone will be a little easier. The only hard thing about learning the Saxophone is the mouth position and playing the notes.
