Do you have to read Dork Diaries in order?

Answer 2: well, as long as you read the first one first, i'd say there's no problem with it. i read the first one first, then the second, but my local library didn't have the third. i was too impatient to wait. i was hooked. i checked out IT'S NOT EASY BEING MEAN and i didn't read another one in order. I've read all of them that have come out, though, including the newest one, MY LITTLE PHONY. The last couple haven't been very good, i hope Lisi Harrison can bring the end of the series together.

yes but then the story will be a bit out of order depending on how many books you read out of order. for exampe if you read the Harry Potter books in this order 3, 1, 2, 6, 7, 5, 4 you're probably not going to understand what's going on.

Yes, in order to understand what's happening. The second book ends where the first book left off, and the third book does the same thing. I haven't read the fourth book yet, but I'm guessing it also follows the same pattern. Plus, there are many important events that happen in the second and third books, but you won't know why they happened or what they mean if you don't read the first book, well, first!
