you have to restart springboard. the easiest way to do this is but downloading SBSettings from cydia then after that's downloaded slide your finger across the top part of your itouch
(do this from home screen or page that displays apps. both are the same) and a screen should come up that has a couple options. from this click the icon that says Respring. your iPod will restart springboard.

Yes
I don't now a other way to get cydia of but the only way I know how to take cydia of is to restore your iPod touch
No, updating the iPod Touch software does not clear it. Every bit of information stays on there.
no
You can get Cydia on the app store but you have to jail break your iPod so it can work with the app.
no, updating your ipod will update games and bugs on your ipod but leave music
After you jailbreak the iPod touch, you can pretty much do anything you want. If you have jailbroken the iPod Touch that means you have Cydia and you can add sources. Look up "What are some good sources for Cydia?" to find some sources.
Cydia is an app itself you get when you jailbreak your iPod touch. You get it when jaibreak is finished, if you have greenp0ison, you have to go on loader and download Cydia from there. If you use redsn0w, you will have the choice of downloading Cydia from your computer to your iPod.
No it is a second appstore but different
By jailbreaking your ipod touch and downloading cydia.
