yup if you dont that cake gonna get rotten lol. Trust me i encountered quite a a few family members who thinks cake cant get rotten but it does.
Actually, it is considered to be poor food hygiene to put food in the fridge if it is not completely cold all the way through. (Same thing goes for freezing food). This is because warm food has the capacity to warm up the other food around it, even in a fridge or freezer, so if there is any form of meat, fish, soft cheese or eggs etc... in the fridge there is a risk of warming them, allowing bacteria to breed and getting food poisoning as a result.

∙ 12y agoYou should because as the cake cooks moisture is still evaporating from the cake. If you put it in the fridge too soon, the moisture will collect back on the cake and make it soggy.
