No. Religious Fanaticism comes from a desire from the worshiper to see personal grievances and problems as having a religious resonance. Religions deal with humanity and humans are broken and imperfect creatures. As a result, religions do not just discuss humanity's greatness but also its failures and non-successes. Those who become fanatics are those who hone in only on the imperfections and see themselves as beyond reproach.

That is the reason why fanaticism is and always has been a minority position in religion and why it tends to grow in places where darkness or despair abound.
