No. Never let Biggles go to the research table because Biggles is not actually a member of the tribe. If you let him, he will destroy some of your technologies and you will lose 3000 tech points. Biggles will be chased away if you say yes or no.

Drag your villagers to the research table. There is no other way to increase tech. Make sure to click on the "detail" button and mark their preference as "research". An untrained villager will earn very little tech, while the higher ranks will earn more. There is untrained, trainee scientist, adept scientist, and master scientist. Obviously, the master scientist earns the most points.

To get Tech Points in Virtual Villagers 1 or 2, you need to have a villager research. Do do this, simply first click on a villager's info. Then do a check at "Research." Every time he goes to the research table he will become a better scientist, eventually a Master Scientist. Drag the villager to the research table. He will become a better scientist, help you solve things on the island, and earn you tech points. You will have to keep making him earn you tech points until you have enough to buy something with them. (You can buy things with the tech points, such as allowing villagers to harvest coconuts. Okay to get tech points fast put all the villagers on the research table if you can. Since my ocean has algae, i cant fish, but i still have a supply of coconuts and crops. While the crops are growing, I put all my adult villagers to the research table and i get 7 techpoints every 2-3 seconds and i have 6 adults on the table because my other adults are nursing and the kids can't research, lol. And i got 20,000 techpoints in A DAY. I have around 32000 techpoints and i'm trying to reach to 90,000 for Level 3 farming, and the research thing works, i have 3 master scientists. *Be sure to also have 3 Master Builders, You will need it in the game to open some kind of crate* (: Hope I Helped You! Well not really.. But i found a way too. If you change the time, day, month or year, on you computer, that little bar and the bottom on the left, change it then go on to virtual villagers 1,2, or 3. There we'll be more people, its like that long has gone by! So you get more and more and more tech points. and lots of food!

There are a few tricks you can use: -Mushroom Spawning: If you have more than one kid, when you see a mushroom, pause the game and drop all your kids on the mushroom. If you have five kids, you can turn one mushroom into five :) You can get more mushrooms when you have farmers foraging, fishing, or farming. Master farmers work best. -When you drop a person at the research table they will say 'attempting research'. If they get it, they will get seven tech points or more depending on their level of research. Idk if this works with masters.
