Sorry about this but, you cannot =(
Windows is installed in a separate section of the hard disc and will not affect your existing data. As with any major changes to a hard disc it is advisable to have a back up copy of your hard disc on an external disc before starting the installation.
Reformatting is a destructive process that removes all data on a drive or partition. So yes. There is usually no need to reformat the system, however, just do a repair installation instead.
You can't uninstall Windows XP, from the command line or otherwise.
If you format the partition where windows files are located, you will loose all data on the partition.
Generally, downloading and installing Windows 10 should not result in data loss, especially if you choose to upgrade from a previous version of Windows. However, it’s always recommended to back up your important files before proceeding with the installation, as unforeseen issues can occur. If you are performing a clean installation, you will lose all data on the drive where Windows is installed unless you back it up first.
I do know abt ahsan virus which disable cmd, taskbar, regedit and f__k your PC.. i dont have any removal but i have a trick You have 2 diffrent option: 1 - Format Complete Drive and install windows again and dont use your old data... 2 - If u dont want to lose your data so why dont u do one thing! 1st of all uninstall XP then manually format active drive (windows drive) then install windows 98 ... and also install any authentic antivirus then check your other drives with the use of antivirus when your search is complete then copy your very important data in to other external drive or USB and then Format Complete Drive and install windows again.. I know that its a long procedure but Inshallah you will have positive result. Thanks Regards. Axiom Communications (John)
If you are upgrading from an older version of Windows as in 7 or 8 you should lose nothing. If you are clearing off your current OS and installing Windows 10 by yourself then you will lose everything as your files are saved in the Windows "Files Explore". It is recommended to make a backup before doing a clear wipe.
dont lose it in the first place
It depends on what you are trying to do. If you install anything over Windows 7 that is not a windows based system you may lose some application functionality if the other system does not have an equivalent. The same could be said if installing Ubuntu, since it may have functionality that is not present in Windows 7.
Answer = No.If you're upgrading from an older operating system (XP, Vista etc.) then you will be given the option in the Windows 7 installation to transfer your files.
When you install a 64 bit OS on a system with a 32 bit OS you MUST do a clean install. An upgrade is not possible. This means that all data on the drive will be lost and must be backed up before proceeding.
No, you are not. Just make sure that you format the right drive. I would recommend to disconnect the second drive while you are performing installation. When you finish connect the second drive back.
