For a Bushnell Buckhorn 3-9x40 rifle scope, you'll typically need a scope cover that fits a 40mm objective lens. Look for a cover labeled for 40mm scopes, which should provide a snug fit. Brands like Butler Creek or Vortex offer universal scope covers that can accommodate this size. Always check the product specifications to ensure compatibility.
The model 31 was sold with a JC Higgins scope in the early 1950's and an original scope is going to be pretty hard to find. Any scope for a grooved receiver should fit. The value is principally as a shooter as there does not appear to be significant collector interest. The rifle was manufactured by High Standard although they did not put that model into the High Standard line. The design is very similar to their Sport King rifle although the Sport King is a pump and the model 31 is semi auto. The gun was available with an internal, retracting sling that is pretty slick and in 22 long rifle or 22 S, L, & LR chamberings. Some parts are available through gunpartscorp.com
The industry standard for scope mounts is the 6-48 screw. This is an oddball size due to the fact that it is only used for that application. Brownells is one source for such screws and related tooling. Larger magnum builders have opted for the 8-40 size, however, to stand up better to the rigors of the magnum recoil.
That will depend on the scope and your eyes- but is ABOUT 3.5 inches. (Distance between your eye and the rear lens of the scope) It is the distance where you see the full image in the scope. You adjust it by sliding the scope forwards or backwards in the rings before tightening them down so that it fits YOU when holding the rifle in firing position. Please note- failure to pull a heavy recoiling rifle in TIGHT to your shoulder will result in a cut over your eye from being whacked with the scope.

The correct size of the bullet that fits the rifle.
The model 760B has a scope rail built in. I am not sure about the older 760's, there were 9 older versions made. I would not go crazy and purchase an expensive scope for it considering the rifle only cost around $30, but yes it is scopeable. Crosman make a scope that fits the 760 and is not expensive. see the link below
