Technically no, for at least two reasons:

  1. You don't get a "degree" in high school.
  2. Legally, a GED is the equivalent of a high school diploma.

You may want to check with your state for the specific requirements in your state, since they may vary from location to location. In California, for example, the director of a child care facility must at minimum either be a high school graduate or hold a GED, and teachers there have to have post-secondary (i.e. college) training which more or less implies they've completed high school. It's possible to be a teacher's aide while still in high school, if you're in a specific training program.

Again, your state may differ, and there are lots of other regulations (for example, you should definitely expect to have to pass a criminal background check). You should contact your state's department of social services for a complete list.
