Unfortunately, everywhere in the UK requires a special license for you to own a Pit Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier. Without a license, your Dog may be taken off you and euthanised due to the law. If you get a license, your Dog will need to be kept on the lead and muzzled in public and sterillized. Otherwise it is illegal to own this poor, stereotyped breed in the UK.
Staffordshire bull terriers are generally high energy dogs and should therefore get at least one hour of exercise every day. It can be broken up into a couple of sessions a day. There are some dog trainers who believe the bull terrier breeds actually need 4 hours of exercise every day. If the dog is older it would need less exercise than a younger dog.
That really depends. First you need to identify its true breed. Pit Bull is not a breed. Consider and research the following breeds: - American Pit Bull Terrier - American Bully - American Staffordshire Terrier - Staffordshire Bull Terrier - American Bull Terrier - English Bulldog - American Bulldog - Cane Corso - Bullmastiff - Presa Canario - Dogo Argentino - Boxer - Rottweiler - Boerboel Once you have decided which breed your dog really is, you need to find a kennel club that registers it. I'm going to use the AmStaff (AKC) as an example. The AKC has a registry called PAL, Purebred Alternative Listing. You then apply for a PAL registration and provide paperwork and photos of your dog.

Staffordshire bull terriers, and all dogs, need fruit and vegetables in their diet, just like humans. However, there are some fruit and veg which you should not give to a dog. Onions are very dangerous for dogs and should never be fed to a dog. Other fruit and veg to avoid include beans, garlic, grapes, raisins and citrus fruits.

No dog likes to be left alone for long periods, and Staffordshire bull terriers are a particularly friendly breed who love the company of people, but can attack other dogs without warning. They are also excellent at digging their way out of backyards when they get bored.I have known many of these beautiful dogs over the years - they are popular in Australia, and they seem to need more company than most other breeds.
I have a staffordshire bull terrier and she never stops panting but people think it is because they are thirsty and in need of water! sometimes this maybe but alot of the time it is just simply because the dog is excited about going for a walk and seeing the different surroundings! ..=]
Yes. You will need to print out the application from their website at www.ckcusa.com You will need witnesses to sign supporting the fact that your dog is a Bull Terrier. You will also need 3 pics. One of each side and one frontal.
My mini bull terrier had/has a large belly and he is now 12 weeks. I was informed from my vet that it was because my dog had worms. You need to get him checked out.
There can be some disadvantages to owning an American Staffordshire Terrier. Also known as American Pit Bulls, these dogs are strong and powerful and need a lot of attention, training, and exercise. They also have an inaccurate reputation for being overly aggressive and mean. This reputation could cause friends and strangers alike to be very nervous around the dog.
