It is not legal to bake and sell baked goods out of your home in the state of Louisiana, no matter what. I was making cakes for friends a little over a year ago and when I started getting calls from people I didnt even know, I called the health department to see what I needed to do to become legal and they told me that it's not legal no matter what you do... some states you can get licensed to have a home bakery but absolutely not in the state of louisiana, so.... within 3 months, I opened my own commercial bakery.
