Do you need a licenses to be a paleontology?

No, if you are a paleontologist (you study fossils) that is your profession. The profession is not itself regulated (like Medical Doctors or Legal practitioners).

However, it may not be lawful to collect fossils in certain places and countries without a license to do so. Certain sites are protected by local laws.

It may also be illegal to export fossils from certain countries without obtaining a license to do this.

To be a paleontologist is only a basic name , it categories

so that means you can be Vertebrate Paleontology,

Invertebrate Paleontology, paleobotany, palynology,a

Palaeoecology, taphonomy,micropaleontology.To do one of those things you have to have excellent marks in:

· Physics

· Biology

· Chemistry

· Mathematics

· Geology

· Computer Studies

· Writing

· Other Languages

After you do all these things you have to take a pH d or a masters with all of these things you can do

· conduct research

· write and publish academic research papers

· be a curator of museum

· run a research program

· teach at a University

Sadly, there is no possible way to "dig" fossils. You have to either:

A. Be given one

B. Find one on the ground in a cave or such
