No, special tools are not needed to change a fuel filter on a 1987 - 1990 Chevy Celebrity. The proper size of open end wrenches work fine.
No other Chevrolet doors will interchange with Celebrity doors. Some other "A" body doors may fit but the lines and mouldings don't line up with the Celebrity body lines. I understand that Pontiac 6000 doors come the closest.
On the l987 Chevrolet Celebrity with 2.8L V6 the vacuum line diagram is located on the front of the passenger side strut tower.
pull the fuel lines off the filter and put a new one in it will be on the passenger side 3/4 of the way to the rear of the car
You will need to go to a parts house and get the special tool that is required.
Kia Special Service Tool
Jack up the rear of the car and use jack stands and NOT cinder blocks. Open the hood and take the cap off of the fuel rail schrader valve and depress it to release the pressure. It will require a special tool to remove the fuel lines. The filter is on the frame on the driver's side.
It will depend on what kind of Chevy. You will have to replace the oil lines if they are leaking. you can either straight up replace, or take the lines to a place that works with hydraulics and get them to crimp on new hoses your lines.
follow fuel lines to filter. remove lines from filter and fit lines to new filter.
trace fuel lines to filter, disconnect lines from filter, fit lines to new filter
First you have to release the fuel pressure at the fuel rail by depressing the schrader valve. Jack up the car and put stands under it for support. Then unscrew the fuel lines from the filter and install the new filter.

Well the lines from the tank to the filter require a special tool you can buy at Auto Zone for about $6.
