Contact your local business licensing department at city hall, they will advise you of the regulations that apply to the scope of business you wish to enter into. Failure to be correctly licensed and inspected can carry very heavy fines and in some cases jail time. So make sure you know the rules before you dive into any personal service business. Insurance and bonding may also be required depending on the area you are planning on conducting business in. There is no excuse for not knowing the rules and regulations.
