Yes and it is built into the mechanical fuel pump.
fuel injection
Depending on weather it has the 305 V8 Or weather it has the 4.3 V6. If it has the 4.3 then it will have throttle body fuel injection. On the 305 It will have a carburated.
depends what was in the 98 dakota. if you take out a v8 and put in a v6 you will need a whole new computer fulelines and whos knows what. and the 88 might possibly be carburated and the 98 fuel injected.
you need V8 motor mounts, bigger radiator, a turbo 350 or turbo 400 automatic tranny, a new driveshaft, the computer and wiring from the 350 fuel injected engines donor car and you should get a beefier rearend.
alot ur goin from a v6 to v8 so u will need a new computer, is the 350 fuelinjected or carburated, u will need a new trany and mostlikely mounts, headers and more
You cant. The truck is fuel injected. If you are good with wiring and modifications, you can do away with the fuel pump in the tank for a lower pressure unit, then you have to do away with the air intake and get a carburated unit and a carb. Hook it all up. Change the wiring to work like a older pre 84 model.
The fuel pump will be located inside of the fuel tank. If you need to replace the part, you will most likely need to go through the trunk.
the external VR is located on the firewall as you are looking at the engine from the front of the vehicle it will be just to the left of the distributor.
All newer cars are fuel injected. But some are carburetored fuel injection(CFI) and some are tune port injected (TPI). The CFIs share an injector or injectors in a carburetor valve body like the old carburetors, and the TPIs have an injector at or in each cylinder for that cylinder only.
There is the base 230hp 283ci V8, the optional 245hp 283ci V8, the optional 250hp 283ci fuel-injected V8, the optional 270hp 283ci V8, and the optional 290hp 283ci fuel-injected V8.
In the fuel tank.
