How do I install an optical port onto my laptop for use with a gaming headset?

My knowledge with all of this cable technology stuff is sort of limited, so bear with me. I have the Asto A40 headset that came with the following cables: 3.0M Toslink optical cable (connect to console or PC for audio) USB Power Cable (connect to any USB port for power or connect to PS4 or PC for chat and power) A40 inline mute cable (connect to headset) PC Headset Y-Adapter (connect to A40 console cable for PC use) Daisy chain cable (connect to AUX input or daisy chain) I just copied this down from the quick start guide that came with the package. This is my problem: at the moment, I am not able to use the headset to its full capacity. The 5.6 microphone port is broken on my laptop (still have to get that fixed lol), so I cannot use the mic at all for talking, only audio. I thought I could avoid this problem altogether by using the "mixamp pro" that came with the headset, but it turns out that my laptop doesn't even have an optical port (don't blame me: I was gifted this headset). The mixamp pro does not work with the generic y-adapter (the 2 cables that headsets usually use; 1 for the audio, 1 for the mic), and I want to use it because it supposedly has better surround sound, clearer audio and I think better mic quality. I can also control game and voice volume and all this other cool stuff, but that's not really my point. So this is my question: is there a way I can "install" an optical port onto my laptop, enabling me to use the mixamp? This is what I was thinking, but I'm not sure if it will work: find a USB to female optical port, that is, plug in a female optical port into one of my 3.0 USB ports. That should enable me to plug into the mini-optical cable into the mixamp pro, and then plug in one end of the mute cable into the mixamp and the other end into my headset. Is something like this possible? Can I buy such a device somewhere? These are the ports that are on the mixamp: the non-square end(like I said, bear with me) of the mini-optical cable, MP3, stream and a funny, and a 2.0 USB type B-looking port on one side. On the other side there are two daisy chain/pc mic out ports, the headset port and an xbox live cable port, which is useless to me because I don't own an xbox. Let me know if you need any more information.
