Some bacteria synthesize vitamins that your body cannot. A non-pathogenic strain of E. coli, for example, synthesizes vitamin K, used in clotting. Bacteria help properly digest food, extracting precious nutrients which your body then uses. Harmful bacteria is often killed by the good bacteria, known as microbiota, or incorrectly, normal flora.

bacteria are very important for our body.there are useful bacteria which prevent the invasion and colonisation of pathogenic bacteria on and in human body.
for eg:- useful coliforms produce colicin which kill the pathogenic bacteria, few bacteria produce vitamins in need ,the resident bacteria on the skin prevents the colonisation of dermatophytes which cause diseases like ring worm etc.

apart from this there are oppurtunistic pathogens wich may lead to harmful conditions when your immmune response fall?(such as in case of avoiding nutritious food or in unhygenic onditions.
