You don't need to have all of these to play band mode, just two (the 2 Guitar controllers would be separate for that comment).

Guitar Hero and Rock Band are different games. Guitar Hero usually costs around $90 if you need to buy a guitar. Rock Band costs around $120 and I think it comes with more instruments. If I were you I'd go with Guitar Hero.
