Both of these drugs are in the drug class Benzodiazepine, meaning that is will show up as a Benzo. However, Ativan is also in the Anxiolytic, Antiemetic drug classes. If these are missing, a person could fail the test.
You need to talk to your doctor who will probably say to taper down your Effexor. You may be able to take Zoloft at the same time since you are on a lower dosage of the Effexor already.Eventually you will be Effexor free and hopefully you won't have to go through Effexor withdrawl like most people.
Yes , extreme anxiety can cause this. Please go to a doctor or clinic for a test . One way or the other, you need to know.
Effexor (venlafaxine) is generally prescribed in increments of 37.5mg, with the highest recommended dose being 225mg. However, some people may need to take up to 375mg.
Anxiolytic drugs, or those used to treat anxiety disorders, used to be the benzodiazepines such as Xanax and Valium. It is now understood that people who suffer from long-term anxiety problem need to avoid the benzodiazepines because of their propensity to cause addiction and dependence. Even at physician prescribed dose, if you take a benzodiazepine for long enough, 4 to 6 months, you will be physically dependent on them. This means you will suffer a withdrawal syndrome unless you taper the dose of the drug very slowly. Even then, you will suffer some discomfort, depending on the drug and how long you have been taking it. Even though there are these problems with the benzodiazepines, if there were no other choices, then they would still be prescribed to control anxiety. Luckily, the SSRI's (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors) are now the drugs of choice for controlling many types of anxiety. They work just as well, given time, as do the benzo's without the problem of addiction. If anxiety is the real problem, then paroxetine (paxil) may be a good choice. It is the most efficacious serotonin re-uptake inhibitor and has been shown to have good results in curbing anxiety. All drugs, however, have many effects and you would need to speak with a psychiatrist before beginning any treatment for a brain-disorder such as anxiety. If paroxetine is not for you, there are many other choices of non-addicting SSRI's and drugs such as venlafaxine (effexor) that may be what you need. Again, though, seek professional guidance. A doctor should be consulted before using Tylenol cough and sore throat while taking Effexor XR. Dextromethorphan in Tylenol cough combined with venlafaxine in Effexor increases the risk of serotonin syndrome which can be fatal.
You need to approach a girlfriend who has anxiety attacks by bringing up issues that will not trigger anxiety.
Carbon, extreme pressure, and extreme heat.
Antianxiety medications do not cure anxiety, they only stop you from experiencing the symptoms. To "cure" anxiety, you need to participate in cognitive behavioral therapy and learn to manage your anxiety.
To beat crippling anxiety once and for all you need to see a trained professional psychiatrist to get to the root of your anxiety.
The way to find out if you need anxiety treatment is by visiting a therapist and letting him/her know your concerns. The therapist can either diagnose you or send you to a specialist where you can be prescribed medicine.
