Ciprofloxacin, most commonly marketed as Cipro, is a broad spectrum antibiotic (antibacterial), effective against a wide range of both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. An antibiotic "Big Gun", it's showing its age as newer antibiotics are coming into the limelight. Still, Cipro is reliable and effective. For a list of bacteria it addresses, see my links:
Ciprofloxacin is in fact an antibiotic. However there are many different factors involved as to which antibiotic you need. Ciprofloxacin is in a group known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics and may be used to treat bacterial infections. There are many different drug interactions and medical contraindications that may apply to you when choosing a medication so make sure you consult a doctor before trying something out.

I'm thinking NOT dangerous because they have ciprofloxacin ear drops but they contain a steroid-dexamethasone. However, those ear drops are very expensive, so if you have cipro eye drops... it's basically the same thing, but without steroids. You will need to consult your doctor tho because he will want you to take an anti-inflammatory for the pain or give you separate drops. BTW- whoever answered this question before me is a complete idiot.
As many times as you need. There is not a limit on how many courses of ciprofloxin/ciprofloxacin you can take. I was prescribed them daily for 3 years to treat a recurrent infection.
