Most modem/routers these days are already outfitted to provide Wi-Fi service in homes. The modem/router with Wi-Fi needs to be placed as high as practically possible and close to the wall connection. I have mine on the top shelf of a bakers rack in my office and the wires tie wrapped to it so it doesn't look unkempt. Have a very good Wi-Fi signal throughout the house, and use ti for streaming television.
