No, you might want to bring a copy though. You just have to make sure that you take a passport. That's how they let you go into Another Country and board all the planes.

Which is better a private pilot or a pilot?

Technically a pilot is anyone who has flown an airplane. In the USA, there are several different levels of pilot certificates. They go:Student Pilot Certificate (can fly solo with a flight instructor signoff)Private Pilot Certificate (can fly with passengers, not for hire)Commercial Pilot Certificate (can fly for hire)Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (can fly as a captain for charter and airline operations)So a "pilot" is not necessarily better or worse than a private pilot.

What is the difference between flying alone and flying with a licence?

In order to fly by yourself, or "solo," in the USA before you have your Private Pilot Certificate you need to have at least a valid 3rd class medical certificate/student pilot certificate, have passed a pre-solo written examination, been trained in certain areas pertaining to your solo flight, and been signed off as safe and competent to make a solo flight by a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).Technically, a student pilot certificate is a "license," but in order to fly whenever you want by yourself/with passengers without a signoff by a CFI, you need at least a Private Pilot Certificate and at least a valid 3rd class medical certificate.

Does a pediatrician need a license and a certificate?

What license do pilots need?

This depends largely on what types of aircraft they plan to fly. If all you want is to fly very small planes on nice sunny days, a sport pilot certificate is all you need. If you want to fly something that has enough room for a couple passengers & some luggage, you will need a private pilots license. If you want to be able to fly in cloudy weather, you will need an IFR (instrument flight rules) certificate. There are additional certificates for multi-engine airplanes, high-performance (over 200hp) airplanes, turbine-powered aircraft, lighter-than-air aircraft, gliders, helicopters, seaplanes and tail-draggers. If you plan on taking paying passengers, or wish to get a job that involves flying, you will need to get your commercial. If you want to teach others to fly, you'll have to get your CFI (certified flight instructor) ticket. And lastly if you want to fly for an airline you will need the ATP (airline transport pilot) certificate. Additionally, most larger aircraft have a type-rating you will need to obtain in order to fly them. This entails specialized training in the performance and handling of the aircraft as well as the use of the various sub-systems in that particular aircraft.
