Fax machines are nothing more than a scanner hooked up to a telephone. On the back of your machine should at the very least be a power connector that you would plug into your power jack in the wall, and then an RJ-11 connector or telephone jack, which you would connected with a telephone cable to the similar RJ-11 connector in the wall for telephone service. Some fax machines may have an extra similar jack that runs to the line jack of an external answering machine. There are also some business based fax machines that are networkable. Some of these may require an Ethernet cable to run to your source, which can be a direct connection or through a router or switch of some kind.
How to install magicjack?
simply plug the magic jack into your high speed internet modem or router, or the USB port of your computer connected to high speed internet, depending on which model you have, and then plug the standard phone line from you telephone into the magic jack. However, I have read somewhere that the magic jack can be jerry-rigged so that it works through existing phone lines and wall jacks, but I have not been able to find that method. Does anyone else know how to do this?
Is a land line considered wireless communication?
No. Even if you plug a wireless telephone into a land line, it is still not considered wireless communication because it is tethered to the hardwired telephone jack.

Magic Jack is not a browser. It is a device that plugs into a USB connector on your computer that you can plug a telephone into. It allows you to make and receive phone calls.

No, but it could make a really awesome fire if you somehow plug Ethernet or router into the telephone line and someone rings your phone at over 100 volts!

Where to connect telephone line with DirecTV?
Simply run a phone cable from the back of your DirecTv box to your nearest telephone jack. You can buy inexpensive splitters that can split the signal from your local telephone company from wall jack to your telephone and directv box. If there is no jack near your DirecTv box, there are also small, powerline adapters so that you plug in an adapter to a power source, plug the DirecTv box peice into it via the telephone cable and then connect the other powerline adapter to another power source and then plug it in to a phone jack and they will transmitt data wirelessly across a room or through a house. These powerline adapters usually cost around twenty five dollars or so. you can buy them at almost any electronics retailer such as bestbuy, cuircut city, or frys electronics.
