You can put whatever oil you want to put in an engine as long as it is the right weight (10W-30, 5W-30 etc...) and it says "made for gasoline engines".
In a 1995 Ford Taurus : ( 5W-30 is the PREFERRED engine oil for the 3.0 and 3.8 )
For a 1995 Ford Taurus : With engine oil filter change : ( I believe that is 4.5 U.S. quarts for the 3.0 Vulcan , V6 engine ) * that's what it is on a 1996 Ford Taurus 3.0 Vulcan , V6 engine
If you can't find the oil drain plug you need to go to tire pro and let them change your oil.................
there is no oil pressure in my 1997 ford taurus, but the oil is full?
There is a cap in the center of the engine that says "engine oil" on it. If it has the 3.0 Vulcan motor (single cam) it takes 4.5 quarts of oil.
The motor oil that is recommended for a 2000 Ford Taurus is 5W 20. This oil can be purchased at any retail or auto parts store.
According to the 1996 Ford Taurus Owner Guide : The 3.4 liter V8 engine in a 1996 Ford Taurus SHO takes : ( 6.5 U.S. quarts of 5W-30 engine oil with engine oil filter change )
According to the 1998 Ford Taurus Owner Guide ( 5W-30 )
The 2002 Ford Taurus Owner Guide shows ( 5W-20 )
According to the 1999 Ford Taurus Owner Guide ( 5W-30 )
On my 1998 Taurus the oil filter is on the front towards the bottom.
When the oil light comes on when a 2002 Ford Taurus is idling it means there may be a problem with the oil pressure that needs to be checked.
