Dry Hair
its not ideal to put body moisturizer in your hair as it can make your hair very greasy and it can build up around the roots of your hair, but you can get moisturizing hair masks or moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. i suggest is you want to add more moisture to your hair use a conditioner after shampoo and rinse with warm water then rinse with a blast of very COLD water this will lock in moisture and can help in many other ways.
i hear that not showering at all is better than moisturizer
Sometimes it can, what it does mostly is moisturizer the hair.
I also have oily hair... Use a deep cleansing shampoo and a small amount of strengthening conditioner only on the endswhere its dry! Dont use on the roots! If you tend to wash your hair every day like I do... sometimes in between I comb baby powder through the roots to get rid of the oily look.

Body moisturizer won't moisturize the hair the way it does the skin. It will simply make it limp and greasy and you'll probably need to shampoo it out immediately. Try a moisturizing conditioner or a leave-in conditioner for the hair instead.
Look for something with lots of moisturizer in it.
Try to use a good moisturizer and hair serum. Get a deep conditioning treatment done at a hair salon.
It is not normal for hair to be painful at the roots, at least, not unless someone is pulling on your hair.
