Answer:
According to The Bible... the dead go to the grave, just as we know it to be:
"...for IN THE GRAVE, where you are going..." (Eccle.9:10 NIV).
The Bible further reveals that there is a "spirit IN man" that:
"...returns to God who gave it." (Eccle.12:7 NIV)
Nowhere does the Bible say anything about "bad spirits going to hell" or "good spirits going to heaven" -- but everyone's spirit returns to God who gave it.
The Bible foretells of a future "Judgment" at the conclusion of man's allotted time God gave him to rule on earth that it calls "The Last Great Day"... or "Judgment Day." It's slated to occur at the end of Jesus' "thousand year rule on earth" [Rev.20] after He returns from the heaven, into which He ascended long ago.
Men's spirits, that returned to God at death, will then be returned to a "resurrected body" to then face Judgment:
"...(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.)... ...I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne... The dead were Judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books." (Rev.20:5 & 12 NIV)
And Jesus tells us:
"No one has ever gone into heaven except the One who came from heaven -- the Son of Man." (John 3:13 NIV)
Therefore, according to the Bible: No... no one goes to heaven after dying. We all go to the grave [if there's a body to bury]... and every man's [unjudged] spirit returns to God who gave it. And the dead are what the Bible says: "asleep" [see John 11:11-14] and awaiting the "Last Great Day" of "Judgment."
"...man is destined to die once, and after that to face Judgment ..." (Heb.9:27 NIV). [the time of that Judgment foretold elsewhere in Revelation 20, a thousand years after Jesus returns to earth.
"...the dead know nothing..." (Eccle.9:5 NIV).
This depends on your personal beliefs. Many believe that heaven and hell exist after death, but your beliefs may differ.
A:Catholics believe that they must first spend time in purgatory before going to heaven. One Protestant belief is that they go to heaven right away. However, there is another Protestant form of belief that they do not go to heaven until the Last Judgement. Many Protestants seem confused as to which of these options they really believe.
There spirits actually leave their minds and go up to heaven, which is light years away, but the body ALWAYS stays buried!!
For Christians you go to heaven by believing the gospel, and knowing that Jesus died for us. Learn his word in the Bible. When you dont do that stuff and really believe in him and ask him to be your savior you wont go to heaven.
His death on the cross payed for your sins and enables you to go to heaven, all you have to do is make Him the Lord of your life.
If there really is a heaven, you probably can not leave, because the alternatives are no-existence (Judaism), hell (Christianity and Islam), or a return to earth, presumably forever. If there is no heaven, then you will never really go there.
Yes, you can still go to heaven if you habitually sin. If a person believes in God, accepts him into their heart, and really tries to live like him (even with flaws), they can still go to heaven.
If you are good you go to heaven and see god If you are bad you go to hell and burn forever but don't worry god still loves you :)
i am dying and i find that very offensive
You know only God can answer that. But as humans if we look at this question with logic, its better to believe in God than not at all. If some one truly believe in God at the death bed not because they are dying or the fear of death maybe they will enter Heaven. if you did not belive in god, no probably not.Answer:Jesus Christ says: "...no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven." (John 3:13)So, according to the Bible, no man except Jesus Christ is in heaven or has ever gone there... and the answer is "no, you won't go to heaven."
Jesus is the path to heaven for he did say that he was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Put your faith in him and you will go there (for God really loves you).
Elijah and Enoch were the only two people mentioned in the Bible to go to heaven without dying. Enoch was the first of the two.
