Fill the radiator up and then start the engine with the cap off. Keep adding coolant until you no longer see any air escaping. Keep it full at all times. Look on the engine for bleeder valves to bleed air from the system. If it has some put the cap on and let the engine reach full operating temperature. Slowly turn the bleeder valve to release any trapped air. Let the engine cool and check the coolant level. Add as necessary to top it off.

Coolant is added to the overflow bottle instead of the radiator. The overflow bottle will allow fluid to fill over into the radiator.
A mix of 50% clean water and 50% antifreeze is recommended in most climates. Add only when engine is cold.

To add coolant to your 2004 Honda Rancher, locate the coolant reservoir, which is typically found near the radiator. Remove the cap and check the coolant level; if it's low, add a mixture of antifreeze and water according to the manufacturer's specifications. Ensure the engine is cool before adding coolant to avoid burns. After adding, securely replace the cap and check for any leaks.
