If you have an arch the shoe helps control the motion and better fit with the arch and where your feet are planted for better control than when you are barefoot it helps more for long runs than short. A lot of people can run faster shorter distances barefoot than with shoes and other people vise verse.
You can run faster without shoes because you are carrying less weight.
No, because the only reason spikes are on a cleat, is because the spikes provide better traction for an athlete. It doesn't have to do much with perpetual motion, or anything. Personally, I run faster in tennis shoes, if there are any inquiring minds that need to know.
It depends on what type of ground they are running on. Horses with shoes are typically used on trails.
Lacrosse doesn't necessarily require certain shoes. When playing, most people use tennis shoes or cleats. This is because its easier to run faster in those types of shoes and they don't have to worry about them coming off when running
Run-DMC was well known for wearing white Adidas tennis shoes with no strings.

Yes you can run in track shoes without the spikes but, I think that you should have spikes at the bottom of your track shoes because if you have the spikes then you can run faster than you would without them. Track and Field athletes that run during the indoor season run with studs, also known as blanks, in their shoes so as to not ruin the shoe or the track. They still choose to wear their spike shoes do to the lightweight nature of the shoe and the fact that they are accustomed to running in them. However, it is not recommended to wear stud/blanks on outdoor tracks.
Barefoot running shoes do not actually increase speed. However, the intricacy of the design reduces the weight of the shoes and it better suit the contours of the feet. It basically provide required protection to the feet but also allow for maximum sensation one is to get on the track.
Well he's probally fast with is shoes on but i think he is without them
Cleats are Faster than tennis shoes from my experience, the grip or traction of the Cleats dig into the floor and push off and with shoes the traction doesnt go into the floor and slips for less speedy then the cleats
