Regardless of the illness, it is never a good idea to "starve" it. This "Old Wive's Tale" or myth has been commonly quoted, but sometimes as, "Starve a cold and feed a fever," and other times as, "Feed a cold and starve a fever." The truth is that it is never medically sound to "starve" any illness, including Swine Flu, since our bodies need fuel to be able to make the necessary antibodies or other defenses against any disease, and to heal damage that infections or diseases have already caused.
