It's all included with your monthly fee, doesn't matter how much you use it, make sure you get a firewall installed on your computer since you will be connected all the time, except when you turn your computer off. It depends on the broadband service you have. Some DSL companies issue a Name and Password, which you would have to log in and out of the service. for Cable modems, or cable access, it is 'constantly on', so there is no log in. I have a computer as a dedicated firewall, that is on 24/7, with no problems. Always On is one of the 'features' you are paying for with broadband!
