Well, this is more of a philosophical question, but I believe the answer is 'both'. You are born with artistic aptitude and with a unique vision. These are things you cannot learn. However, a raw artist must be groomed to an extent. By that I mean that an artist must learn how to work and how too see art. Surely I am more of an artist now than I was at age five!

Is an artist born or made?

The debate over whether an artist is born or made is complex and often leans towards both perspectives. While innate talent and sensitivity to creativity can play a significant role in an artist's abilities, education, practice, and life experiences also shape their skills and style. Ultimately, a combination of natural inclination and deliberate effort contributes to an artist's development. Thus, artists are both born with certain traits and made through cultivation and dedication.
