All my baseboards and molding around my doors has been repainted with a latex on top of an oil base and it is now peeling. What is the best way to fix so it can be repainted?

You can paint latex over oil, we do it all the time. The oil base was not prepped correctly. The paint needs a "tooth" to hold on. You need to sand all surfaces to a solid surface (oil paint, wood etc...) then clean it well with a wet rag using a solution of water and TSP. Let it dry. You now have a solid surface with a slight roughness to it. You can now paint.

How much longer will oil last?

nobody really knows for sure, some people say it will be as soon as 2030, some say 2050, others think it will be longer. I think we have a good 50 to 100 years before there is a problem, but we need to work on using oil a lot less, or it will be sooner

What oil to use for lawn mower?

If you are talking about a Briggs and Stratton Engine (B&S) engine - you can use a straight 30w oil (above 40 degrees Fahrenheit). You can also use a 10w-30 motor oil below 40 degrees F. Now comes the fun part - you can use 10w-30 all the time if you like - just be sure to check the oil level frequently. By using a 10w-30 all the time during the hot summer of mowing, you will consume more oil. Therefore check the oil level often.
